"Little A Carnival Fundraiser"

Greenfield's very own "Little A"  (Alexander) Cerpa was born 7 1/2 weeks early at 4 lbs. 6 oz. At first, Little A seemed to be doing well, breathing on his own, eating normally, and thriving. But as with many preemies, the honeymoon phase proved to be short lived, when it was learned that "Little A" had an intestinal blockage that needed surgical repair in order for him to survive.

At just four days old, LeBonheur Children's Hospital surgeon, Dr. Tim Jancelewicz, successfully repaired Little A's tiny intestines and set him on his road to recovery.

Spending the first five weeks of life in the LeBonheur NICU, Little A was graciously and wholly served by the LeBonheur NICU nurses, doctors, and support staff. Further, the LeBonheur NICU provides an invaluable amenity by allowing for a living and sleeping space for parents and caregivers to remain at all times in the room with the patient. For new parents, in great need of support and comfort, this was an inconceivable, incredibly emotionally trying experience, that was made easier by LeBonheur's facility, superior talents, and organizational effectiveness.

The Cerpa family and Greenfield continue to give thanks to LeBonheur by raising funds to support the hospital's continued cutting-edge innovation and success. We are so grateful to have such a talented group of professionals in midtown Memphis.
